But part of my job now as a volunteer Forgotten Advocate with The Forgotten Initiative is to occasionally post to the blog connected to the website. And last week was my first post. It was just my initial introduction and story of how God has brought me to this place of working in the foster care world, but it definitely speaks from my heart about these issues. Go check it out HERE!
Also, Shane and I have begun GPS classes through Lifeline which are the foster parent training classes. It's 10 weeks of classes (we're halfway through!) and then a homestudy to become licensed foster parents! We're excited, fearful, curious, and a whole range of emotions but the classes are extremely informative and the resulting discussions helpful as we decide what kind of kids we will be welcoming into our home and dream about what this is going to look like for our family. Yes, we concede that we have no idea what it will really look like but we pray that the tough elements will strengthen our faith and the victories will be celebrated as from the Lord as well! We hope that you'll be able to follow our journey here (assuming I remember to update more often).
And of course I can't do a post after this long without a few pictures of my cute boys. They're getting so big!!
