We've been having quite a busy, fun summer. If you haven't met Melanie yet, you should! She's the sweet 15 year old German girl living with us this summer. We're having fun trying to show her a good time and she's getting a good taste of regular old American life. So we're squeezing in as much family fun this summer as we can. This weekend, we went to Alabama Adventure with Shane's family and had a blast. The kids really liked it and we hope we'll be able to go one more time this summer. We got some cute pics at the amusement park side. We didn't get any pictures at the water park but everyone loved the lazy river, kid pool and water slides. We also took advantage of the trade-your-membership day on Saturday and used our zoo pass to get into McWane Center for free. The kids had a good time - it was Noah's first time - and Melanie got to do some more grown up activities for a change (although she spent lots of time in the toddler sections too). We've also spent a good bit of time at Camp Winnataska this summer (see Indian Night Post) and I got a good shot of Shane doing Wayside, which is a devotional time the first day the campers arrive. And our friend Cate spent an afternoon with us and played water table and had popsicles. Last, I finally got around to making another superhero cape for Noah to match the one I made for Bennett last year for Halloween. The boys are having fun "flying" through the house together. The tutorial to make that cape is here if you're interested in making one. And we used those capes today at our cousin Maxwell's 3rd birthday party, which of course was a superhero party. I got to make some Superman Sweet Petits to be the party favors for that and they turned out really cute. What a great summer! And we've still got our beach trip coming up in a couple of days!!
