I'm not sure we've ever gone to so many parties in one week. We started with a costume party with my college friends last week. Stacy our hostess is always super creative and does a great job with Halloween for the kids! Then we had Shane's nephew Blake's birthday at Cindy's house, which the kids love at Halloween because her house is decked out for Halloween! Saturday they had two birthday parties, one where they got to wear their costumes and the other for our neighbor at a church pumpkin patch. After that, we came home and did the pumpkin carving. Shane was a great pumpkin carver as always. This year, Bennett & Noah were the architects and were very proud of their designs.
Sunday we went to church in the afternoon for their carnival and then came home for trick-or-treating. We love our neighborhood & neighbors and had a great time with all of them!
Finally tonight we started a new tradition called the Solomon Halloween Candy Draft. To squelch the requests for candy every 14 seconds, we let each boy take turns choosing their top 10 favorite candies to consume over the coming week and the rest has magically disappeared. So far so good on that one. I'm guessing Noah will have a problem with it once he figures out what happened but by then it will be too late!
We went to the pumpkin patch with Bennett's school a few weeks ago. It was fun to get to go on the field trip so I could get to know more of the kids in his class. He had fun as always and especially loved the hay maze and the bus ride (except when his mom kept falling asleep on the bus ride home). They let them pick some cotton and bring one handful home, which is now on his bulletin board!
Soccer is still going strong. Bennett really seems to love it. He scores at least one goal each game and sometimes more. His celebrations are classic! He loves to cheer, both for himself and for his friends. One week it was cold so he wore his hat & mittens. Now he has to wear them every week because they give him "super powers". Whatever works, right?!
Both my mom & Ron have birthdays in October so we went over one afternoon to celebrate. We took some yummy cupcakes (yes I've been into cupcakes lately). This was a cute picture of the boys with their Grammy & Papa!
