Our Evening Ritual

So we have started a new little family ritual by going for a walk after Shane finishes work and usually (my preference) after dinner as well. We've found what Bennett calls the "rocky park" because of all the rocks, obviously. It's at Bluff Park Elementary and so about 1/2 mile from our house. Bennett of course takes his Big Truck and we also take the double stroller for when he's tired, at which point the Big Truck gets hung on the stroller by a bungee cord (thanks to Shane's innovative mind, I used to just carry it). Swinging is the favorite activity but there are lots of fun things to do, including the Diego zipline that Bennett's getting very good at. Anyway, we don't do it every night but several nights a week and it's such an enjoyable thing to do at the end of the day. The kids get to play, the adults get to talk, and everybody gets a little exercise.
